Promote donation options on your website
Take donations directly on your website. Make sure you have already integrated with our partner payment gateways first. Here's how to Receive payments with Stripe and GoCardless.
Donation page
By default, your website already has a pre-configured Donate page. This contains a Donation Block with preset buttons linking to built-in donate forms.
Add a donation block to any page
While the default donation page is often the best starting point, you may want to ask for donations on other pages of your website. You can do this easily using the Donation Block.
- Go to the page where you want the donation option to appear.
- Click Add block in the toolbar.
- Select Donation.
You can customise this block to show One-off options, Monthly options, or Both. This is a great starting point for simple donation calls-to-action.
Note: The donation block cannot be used to pre-fill specific amounts or link to specific campaigns. for those advanced features, use manual links (see below).
Create manual donation options
If you want to link text, buttons, or images from any page directly to a donation form, you can construct a custom URL. This allows you to pre-fill amounts or associate the donation with a specific campaign for reporting purposes.
The donation form is always the same, but the URL structure changes based on what you want to do.
1. Choose your base URL:
- One-off donation:
/donation_invoices/new - Monthly donation:
/donation_subscriptions/new
2. Add a Campaign (Optional): To track donations against a specific campaign, add /campaign/[Campaign ID] . You can find the Campaign ID in the URL when editing a campaign (e.g., for Campaign 12, add /campaign/12 ).
3. Add an Amount (Optional): To pre-fill the donation amount, add the number at the end of the URL (e.g., for £50, add /50 ).

Note: When adding a preset amount, only whole numbers are supported.
Thank your donors
You can add a custom message to the thank you email that your donors receive. To configure this go to Settings > Features > Donations in the main toolbar. Add your custom message and click Save.
