Launch using Cloudflare

White Fuse uses Cloudflare to manage DNS records and SSL certificates.

An SSL certificate is a necessary security device for encrypting all the traffic and transactions through your website.

White Fuse is different from a standalone website such as one built with WordPress. It is a multi-tenant cloud-based platform and partly for this reason our requirements are different. SSL certificates are not applied to an individual domain in the same way and instead require a reverse proxy.

Using the White Fuse Cloudflare account

The simplest approach to applying an SSL certificate in these circumstances is to use a free service like Cloudflare. To make life easy for our customers we typically set up sites using our own Cloudflare account. This does mean that your DNS would be transferred to our Cloudflare account and you would need to contact our support team if you needed to make any changes to them.

Almost all of our customers choose this approach as it is hassle-free and our support team manage the technicalities for you. If you choose this option all you need to do is change your name servers to transfer control of your DNS records to us. When you are ready just let us know and we can tell you what to change your name servers to.

Using your own Cloudflare account (or equivalent)

If you need to keep control of your DNS records or don't want to use our Cloudflare account for other reasons you can either create your own Cloudflare account or use an equivalent system that applies an SSL certificate using a reverse proxy route.

If you choose this option you can let us know when you are ready to launch and we will give you a CNAME record to add yourself.
