Understand gift aid processing and reporting
You can capture gift aid declarations and access a report listing transactions where gift aid is applicable.
Add gift aid declarations to donations and membership plans
On donation forms, you can add or remove a gift aid declaration to the donation process within Settings > Features > Donations. Once the gift aid declaration is enabled, a gift aid option is always shown.
On a membership joining form, the gift aid option is only shown if Qualifies for gift aid is selected on the plan settings page in Settings > Membership plans.
Track gift aid status
If a contact makes a gift aid declaration on a form, this setting is applied to their contact record and will determine the status of all subsequent donations or qualifying membership subscriptions until the gift aid status on the contact record is changed.
Changing gift aid status
The gift aid status of a contact can be changed by the contact in My account > Contact details or by an administrator editing the contact details on the contact record. The new setting will determine the status of subsequent donations or qualifying membership subscriptions.
Listing transactions where gift aid is applicable
A gift aid report is accessible at Reports > Payments. Setting the Gift Aid filter to Yes provides a list of all payments processed with gift aid status. From this report you can export a subset of transactions based on a date range which can be used to submit a gift aid report to HMRC.
